1 Jun 2008 - Welcome Cards
You will all see that we now have Welcome Cards in the pews for use by members and visitors alike. These give information about the Church itself and on the back there is space to fill in information when people wish to speak with the Minister.
In addition to the Welcome Cards, we now have Welcome Packs which gives information about the history of the Church, and details about all the organisations etc. The purpose of these is to give to people who perhaps have just moved into the village or have expressed an interest in the life of the Church. However, the elders are relying on everyone in the congregation to keep them advised of when new people move in. If someone moves in to a house near you we would ask that you either telephone one of the elders and ask them to arrange for a pack to be handed in to your new neighbour or, indeed, hand a pack over yourself. This is a good way of welcoming people, not only to Church, but to the village itself. Hopefully this will encourage new people to come to the Church, but we need everyone to remember to let the elders know.
Each family should now have received a Welcome Pack. If you didn't, please ask for one at the door on the way out of church after morning worship. We would like you to use this to give to a new neighbour or to welcome a family who may be interested in coming along to join us in worship.
Thank you.
